i've lost my perspicacity!!

~Sigh~

I used to be so good with words. Now I........um........thingy.

I used to be able to wax lyrical all over the place. I could rattle off prose like nobody's business. Big words were my specialty. Gargantuan words. Long and complicated ones. I wrote well. I spoke well.

Unfortunately being eloquent doesn't bode well in school. Especially high school. It seems that the standard teenage reaction to anyone who can complete a sentence without resorting to "umm, like....yeah" is to laugh and point.

So I suppressed my lyrical urges. I dimmed it down for the ignorant plebes. I made a commitment to restrict myself to two syllables or less.

And now I'm paying for it.

Now, when I want to be verbose, I can't. It has worked its way into my psyche, and I find myself searching for words or phrases. I'm unable to convey things like I used to. I'VE LOST MY PERSPICACITY. Which is why my diary is mostly flippant and humourous (god I hope it's humourous).

Don't get me wrong, I love being funny (again, god I hope I'm funny). Plus I wouldn't want to muscle in on other people's territory, especially when they do it so well.

But once in a while, you know?

So, in conclusion - to all those people who ever gave me grief for the way I spoke or wrote - THANK YOU.

I am now literally dumber for having known you.

PS: Fabi, if you still haven't received any emails from me, then there's something wrong with either yours or my mailing system. I'm getting yours, and I've now sent you two, count them, two.
